Since childhood, I have had a thing for atmosphere, light, people and emotions. Initially I start in the photography in (the city center of) Utrecht, nowadays throughout the Netherlands and sometimes abroad. My study photography was at the Photo Academy, and I gained practical experience with professional photographers in Utrecht.

From photographing old masters for Museums to Rijkswaterstaat's most modern control rooms, aerial photography or church silver, portraits for staff magazines or advertisements, working visits from ministers or the Royal Family. Whether I'm photographing the (commissioner of the) Queen or King, ministers, mayors, deputies, aldermen, professors, neighbours, couples or my own children, I'm always looking for that special moment, that one ray of light, that distinct angle and fleeting moments of happiness.

Over the past 20 years, I have often been hired by the government (province of Utrecht, provincie of Noord-Brabant, Municipality of Amsterdam, Municipality of Stichtse Vecht and Municipality of Wijdemeren, Utrecht, Leusden). Semi-government institutions, companies and profit and non-profit organizations also often ask me for extensive photo reports, portrait photography on locations or in a studio setting, environmental photography and themed photography.

You can hire me for a single portrait, portrait series of all employees, photo reports from meetings, revelations, events lasting a few hours, to lengthy photo reports of months and sometimes years.

As I write this, I'm thinking about what some photographers and colleagues have asked: “Do you still enjoy shooting for the government, companies, UNESCO or wedding?"

My answer is: "Yes, I still like it, I like it more and more each and every day."

Photographing people with all the associated emotions makes me feel warm and satisfied every time. As if I contributed something extra to the happiness of the people photographed  an added value when shooting. Mostly in the background (unobtrusively present) and if necessary, I take the direction and come to the fore.

Let you relive your moments

I look, feel, see and record it, as if it were my own emotions. Honest, passionate, alert and respectful in the right place at the right time.

Together we make your wedding day a beautiful experience. Create and capture great memories.

I love to let you experience or relive those moments, that's what I love to do. And what I would also like to do for you.

“Rick is a very passionate photographer. We got to work with him twice during a photo shoot for my employer (government). That went so well that he was also asked to make a wedding shoot for my daughter, son and niece's wedding. Rick is a very nice person to have with you as a photographer on the big day. He is friendly, professional and listens to the wishes of the newlyweds. His photo books are great, his photos are perfect, Highly recommended. A very nice person and a very personal approach”.
